I am excited to work with individuals and couples towards transformative change and growth. With the many years of experience in community mental health practice; I bring a trauma informed, evidence based, compassionate, and knowledgeable perspective to the therapeutic conversation. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings, and where they can develop the skills and tools they need to thrive.
Among the models used, I incorporate the Satir Model, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gottman Method and Existential Therapy into my practice.
Individual Counselling
Individual therapy begins with an initial assessment. This consists of a variety of questions designed to help me understand the current concern, want from counselling and a brief personal history. The treatment plan would be discussed at the end of the appointment. The initial appointment is between 60-90 minutes in length. Subsequent appointments are 55-60 minutes
Couples Counselling
Couples Therapy involves an initial assessment consisting of the pair relating the wishes for therapy, a relationship history and an observed conversation. This is followed by an individual assessment of each person, lasting about 60 minutes. Once the assessments are complete the three of us connect; where the results of the assessment are provided, discussed and a treatment plan is created. Couple appointments are 90 minutes in length.
